Upon defeating the Elite Four of the Indigo Plateau Charles was given permission to enter Cerulean Cave.
At that time Charles was still young but very brave so he entered the cave in hoping to complete his Pokedex.
Charles and his team wondered the what to appear endless cave for hours until he got attacked by a very powerful psychic Pokémon, this Pokémon was a Mewtwo a Pokémon that was created with the DNA from a Mew.
Charles quickly captured it using a Master Ball not risking any harm to his Pokémon friends including Xarles.
"Who knows how many clones they made of this monster from Mew" Charles thought to himself.
Raphael has been traveling with Charles ever since and is very protective of his master.
